Technology is improving to understand consumer behavior, streamline manufacturing, and operate self-driving cars. Similarly, data science uses models and systems to predict behaviors and help businesses make decisions. The Chemical Engineering program offers an average of 35 graduate courses a year in the four research areas of Biomolecular Engineering, Nanotechnology, Energy and Environment, and Separations. The courses include, but are not limited to Air Pollution Engineering, Biotransformations and Biocatalysis, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering Design and Green Engineering, Computational Chemistry and Molecular Modeling, Fuel Cells, Membrane Processes, Molecular Engineering and Functional Nanomaterials, Polymer Systems, Process Dynamics, Control and Optimization, Reaction Engineering and Catalysis for Energy and Fuels, Separation Processes, Tissue Engineering, and Transport Phenomena.
