These are automated processes made possible by smart building research. A smart building uses sensors, microchips, and actuators to collect data and manage the system being used. This technology offers energy reduction management and optimizes space use.The Chemical Engineering program offers an average of 35 graduate courses a year in the four research areas of Biomolecular Engineering, Nanotechnology, Energy and Environment, and Separations. The courses include, but are not limited to Air Pollution Engineering, Biotransformations and Biocatalysis, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering Design and Green Engineering, Computational Chemistry and Molecular Modeling, Fuel Cells, Membrane Processes, Molecular Engineering and Functional Nanomaterials, Polymer Systems, Process Dynamics, Control and Optimization, Reaction Engineering and Catalysis for Energy and Fuels, Separation Processes, Tissue Engineering, and Transport Phenomena.
