Whether envisioning medical sensors or designing robots or swarms, faculty in ECE research these technologies for land, air, and water and within and outside the human body and study how humans interact with them. The faculty develop sensors aimed at biological, chemical, and physical processes and have capabilities to transmit or report on the measurements that the sensors obtain. The sensors span the full range of sizes and functionalities and autonomous technologies for sensor functionality.
