Graduate students in the Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics doctoral program pursue research in the areas of Dynamics and Control, Fluid Mechanics, Propulsion Systems, and Solids and Structures. These are the four key areas that present challenges and opportunities to shape the future of aerospace engineering and to bring societal benefit at large.Often referred to as the Birthplace of Aviation, the Southwest Ohio area has long played an important role in aerospace history and technology. The UC School of Aerospace Systems, which features the second-oldest Aerospace Engineering program in the country, has been at the forefront of aerospace technology since the early days of air and space travel. The School of Aerospace Systems graduate programs have played pivotal roles in building this success by bringing together outstanding faculty, and the most talented students from around the world. The School has a record of long-standing excellence.
