ماذا سوف أتعلم؟

This certificate is designed for teachers who are licensed as intervention specialists or vocational educators who want to develop the skills to support youth with disabilities in their transition planning and related services. Students in this certificate program complete the requirements for the Ohio Endorsement in Transition to Work and are qualified to serve in transition-focused roles such as Job Training Coordinator and Career Assessment Specialist (CAS) The certificate is a 9 semester-hour program. All coursework is completed online and includes a minimum of 50 hours of field-based experience. Learning Outcomes Standard 1. Candidates know and understand the foundations of special education and the framework of secondary transition services. Standard 2. Candidates create learning environments that promote high levels of learning and achievement for all students. Standard 3. Candidates demonstrate the ability to plan and deliver effective instruction that advances the learning of each individual student. Standard 4: Candidates construct and use varied assessments to inform instruction, evaluate, and ensure student learning. Standard 5. Candidates collaborate and communicate with students, parents, other educators, administrators, and the community to support student learning. Standard 6. Candidates assume responsibility for professional growth, performance and involvement as an individual and as a member of a learning community.

In addition to admission requirements of the college of Graduate Studies, admission to the certificate program requires the following:

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university

A current Ohio educator license as intervention specialist in special education or as a vocational educator

The certificate program has selective admissions and may admit a limited number of students. Thus, meeting all formal criteria does not guarantee admission.
