The Master of Arts in Teaching with a major in Teaching offers three concentrations-Elementary Education, English as a Second Language, and Secondary Education. The Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in English as a Second Language requires completion of 30-39 credit hours and successful completion of a clinical experience or an advisor approved alternative. Teacher licensure requires completion of all current Tennessee teacher licensure requirements for the licensure area.

Admission to the Master of Arts in Teaching requires:an earned bachelor degree from an accredited university or college;at least a 2.75 undergraduate GPA or 3.0 GPA in the most recent 60 credit hours for full admission or a 2.50 undergraduate GPA for conditional admission;a satisfactory score on the Praxis content area be required if -embedded.
