University of Colorado Denver’s Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) with a middle school math licensure program, will deepen your understanding of mathematics while learning how to engage students in meaningful learning experiences. Designed for students who hold a bachelor’s degree in a variety of fields, this graduate program supports you in pursuing your dream to be a teacher. Upon successful completion of all components of this program, you will be ready to be a licensed middle school math teacher. In this concentration you will: Learn to plan assessment-informed math instruction for educational excellence and equity for all middle school children from diverse racial, ethnic, socio-economic and ability backgrounds.
Complete a transcript evaluation for content knowledge from your bachelor and/or masters. We must ensure that all candidates have appropriate and sufficient content knowledge related to the content they are planning to teach aligned with their identified teacher licensure area.Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
