The CU Denver Master of Science in Computer Science provides ample opportunities in state-of-the-art research and professional development in various interdisciplinary areas. The Master of Science in Computer Science requires a minimum of 30 credit hours of graduate-level computer science courses with at least a 3.0 grade point average. Students choose one of three plans to complete their degree. Students in the Data Science in Biomedicine track will complete a minimum of 36 credit hours of graduate-level courses. The 30-credit Master of Science in Computer Science at the University of Colorado Denver’s College of Engineering, Design and Computing (CEDC) now offers expanded online options, giving you the same respected MS degree with greater flexibility than ever before. The program is intentionally designed to offer flexible options: Students can combine online, in-person, and hybrid formats to complete the MS degree. Three core courses may be taken in-person or online depending on scheduling and availability. Select electives are available in online formats. You decide the format that works best for your goals and schedule.

Applicants should hold a bachelors degree (or equivalent) with sufficient computing and mathematical foundations. Statement of purpose – must be an original essay submitted with application. Scanned copies will not be accepted for submission.
Resume – must be submitted with application. Official transcripts – we require one official copy of each previous transcript. Send e-transcripts to the Graduate School. Letters of recommendation – two letters of recommendation are required for all programs except Biomedical Engineering (which requires three) and Electrical Engineering (for which letters are not required for internal applicants and are optional for external applicants).
Official GRE scores – the college has removed the evaluation of GRE scores for admission decisions. If choosing to submit, send scores officially through ETS using code -4875. Preferred minimum score of 300 PLUS
