The Master of Arts in Teaching - Secondary Earth Science Concentration is a full-time 47 hour program that leads to initial teaching certification in 6-12th grade Earth and Space Science. This program is intended for students with a BA or BS in Earth Science and/or Geology who wish to earn a State of Michigan teacher certification. Certified teachers with the Earth/Space Science (DH) endorsement can teach earth science in 6-12th grade classrooms. As a student in this program you may seek advising, apply for scholarships, and participate in activities both in the Department of Geography & Geology in the College of Arts and Sciences, the home department for this program, and in the Department of Teacher Education in the College of Education, home of the professional teaching courses.

للطلاب الدوليين

A four-year baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or an equivalent degree from a non-U.S. institution. In addition, a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale, or 3.0 in the last half of the undergraduate program, is required for full admission. Applicants who do not meet minimum admission requirements may be considered for conditional admission.

Applicants must also meet the following program requirements:

Hold a 2.75 undergraduate GPA or 3.0 in the last half of the undergraduate work or 3.3 GPA in 12 hours or more of work at the graduate level.
