The Pittsburg State University Pre-Physical Therapy emphasis puts graduates on the path to becoming physical therapists. Pre-physical therapy graduates study all the topics they need to prepare for roles as physical therapists. Coursework covers a variety of topics, including biological sciences, exercise science, therapeutic intervention, and wellness strategies. Physical therapists diagnose and treat individuals of all ages, from newborns to elderly patients. Many patients have injuries, disabilities, or other health conditions that need treatment, but physical therapists also care for people who simply want to become healthier and to prevent future problems. Our program is designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and experiences to succeed in their journey towards becoming a licensed physical therapist.Physical therapists must work closely with patients, physicians, and physical therapy assistants from many different backgrounds, so students in this program also study topics such as diverse perspectives, communication, and social responsibility.
