In the History concentration, students learn from dynamic scholars who are internationally respected for their research and publications. The areas covered by core and elective courses range from early music to 21st century popular genres. Students may apply to move into the History concentration at the end of second year if they have maintained minimum grades of B in specified courses.The Bachelor of Music program prepares students for a successful career in the arts. Students study in a creative and collaborative environment and can shape their education to their aspirations. The program offers a wide range of program choices, all grounded in essential training.The education you receive in the Desautels Faculty of Music will prepare you for a wide range of careers, including traditional performance, music education, composition and history, and many other music and arts-related professions. We offer instruction in all orchestral, band and jazz instruments, piano and organ, all vocal areas and conducting.
