Carleton’s Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) is a four-year Honours degree that places strong emphasis on preparing future social workers for dynamic and social justice-focused professional engagement with individuals, communities, organizations and macro-level systems.The BSW program combines a liberal arts education with professional social work education to support understanding of the interconnectedness of people and environments and how this impacts the well-being of individuals, families and communities. In your first year, you will take a range of courses outside of social work alongside focused social work courses that introduce the broad scope of this robust profession and the related context of state programs and policies.
