Biological Sciences department provides exceptional opportunities for learning and mentorship to all students. The Biological Sciences (MSc) program offers study in a broad range of biological disciplines in both field and laboratory research.The Department of Biological Sciences offers both M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees. Students interested in a graduate program in the department should contact a potential supervisor from among the departmental research areas . Once the student has a supervisor in place the student can then apply for admission to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Potential students should consult the Graduate Student Regulations for admission requirements. All current and potential graduate students should review the award and scholarship opportunities available.The M.Sc. thesis-based program consists of a combination of coursework and a research component.Expected Duration - 2 years.

The following are minimum requirements to be considered for entry into the program.Admission decisions are based on the qualifications of the applicant as well as the ability of the Department of Biological Sciences and the University of Manitoba to serve the applicant's intended program of study and area of specialization.To be considered for admission to the Biological Sciences (MSc) program, you must have a minimum of a four-year undergraduate degree in biology (or equivalent).
