Associate of Applied Science in Nursing: LVN/Military to ADN Mobility Program

The LVN/Military to A.D.N. Mobility Program at St. Philip's College accepts licensed vocational nurses and military medics with evidence of equivalent training as an LVN. A copy of military candidates' J.S.T. is needed to confirm the training. The program is one year long and awards nine credit hours after the accepted students complete the first semester of RNSG coursework. The program is three consecutive semesters utilizing online, face-to-face, and lab/clinical experiences to meet the educational requirements for the students to become Registered Nurses. Upon successful completion of the nursing education program, graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN), authorized by and administered through the Texas Board of Nursing. By attending an RN (Registered Nurse) program, a student will learn the skills and knowledge necessary to become a licensed registered nurse. This includes a comprehensive understanding of anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, patient care, medical and surgical interventions, and communication and critical thinking skills. Additionally, RN programs provide clinical experiences where students can apply their knowledge and skills in real-world healthcare settings under the supervision of experienced nurses. Upon completion of an RN program, graduates will be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam to become licensed as a registered nurse.
