The Advertising Major prepares students for professional careers or graduate education. Students majoring in Advertising find career opportunities in professions requiring applied communication expertise. Graduates are qualified for positions in creative, account management, media planning and other areas within businesses, agencies and media. Coursework in this major focuses on writing, research, digital and emerging media and professional abilities. Students are required to complete a capstone internship experience to practice and refine their skills. The Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication prepares students for communication fields.

High school GPA requirement: Equivalent to a minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. For more information on equivalency calculations. Core course requirements: Along with the GPA requirement, students must complete a minimum set of high school core courses, including four years of English (or their native language), three years of science with at least two years of laboratory science in biology, chemistry, and/or physics, three years of mathematics including algebra and geometry, and two years of social studies.
