B.S. in Applied Physics and B.S. in Mathematical Sciences - Applied Mathematics

The BS in Applied Physics is a joint degree program offered by NJIT and Rutgers-Newark. The program offers students a general physics option with a broad exposure to several major areas of physics. A double major in Computer Science and Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics and Applied Physics (BS programs) is also available. The curriculum as described in the online catalog is for students entering NJIT as freshmen in the Fall of 2000 or after that date. Students entering before that date may have a different program and should consult the department to learn which curriculum applies.The B.S. in Mathematical Sciences provides a strong foundation in the core areas of mathematics and empowers students to apply mathematical and statistical analysis to careers in research and development, medicine, computing, finance and other industries. In the Mathematical Sciences B.S program, students will gain a strong, fundamental understanding of both applied and pure mathematics, which they can apply to a diverse set of concentrated career fields including mathematics, natural sciences, computer science, social sciences or business. The program’s objective is to prepare students for graduate studies or successful careers in mathematical science and related fields.
