The program in mathematics offers training for students planning to work in mathematics and computation for industry, planning to continue their studies in graduate school, or planning to enter secondary education teaching. Students may satisfy the major requirements in several ways, which are designed to meet these various career objectives. Our graduates will: Demonstrate proficiency with the techniques and applications of calculus. Read and write mathematical proofs, producing arguments that are logically and syntactically correct. Effectively communicate mathematical facts in oral or written formats. Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of some area of mathematics.

High school GPA requirement: Equivalent to a minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. For more information on equivalency calculations. Core course requirements: Along with the GPA requirement, students must complete a minimum set of high school core courses, including four years of English (or their native language), three years of science with at least two years of laboratory science in biology, chemistry, and/or physics, three years of mathematics including algebra and geometry, and two years of social studies.
