The Game Design Sequence in the School of Creative Technologies at Illinois State lets you forge your own paths in the industry. You can choose to focus on one of the many fields, including: Design and development, Animation and modeling, Sound design and music. As a game design student, you'll be able to experiment with different fields, discover your passion, and do what you want to do. We'll also teach you about future directions and experimental technologies for gaming and imagine further innovations for the industry. The School of Creative Technologies at Illinois State is flexible. You can approach game design and development from a wide variety of perspectives, such as: digital mediums, game engines and programming, visual arts, music, and stage performance. You can also combine any approaches that might interest you. Our outstanding faculty come from a variety of backgrounds in game design and development, including: VR, sound design, music composition, music production, digital painting, animation, motion graphics, visual design, web, mobile, and video performance. The School of Creative Technologies at Illinois State is an interdisciplinary school. Our faculty and students have diverse skillsets and perspectives, with a lot of enthusiasm around games. Creative Technologies is developing a partnership through Student Affairs with Esports, and we are striving to build a university-wide game-centric culture.
