After completing core courses in environmental policy, ethics, economics, and research methods, students get to select courses from a variety of expertise areas, including conservation biology, energy and the environment, geographic information systems, soil science, solid waste management, water resources, and wetlands. Students in the Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science gain professional experience through internships, in-depth investigations, and professional collaborations, and they have an opportunity to complete another major or minor in a related program, such as the BA in Outdoor Education. An Environmental Studies degree can help students understand how to protect, enhance, and rehabilitate a range of ecosystems. Graduates can pursue generalized careers or roles in specific areas of conservation. They can also engage in hands-on internships and work that strengthen their tangible skills and knowledge in the field.

New England College recognizes the IB curriculum as a challenging academic program that provides excellent preparation for university study. In most cases, credits are awarded for a minimum score of 5 on Standard Level (SL) exams and minimum score of 4 on Higher Level (HL). Additionally, students who earn an IB diploma in English can have their English Proficiency Score waived.A maximum of 30 credits may be awarded for IB.
