History teaches you to understand past cultures and societies, and to be an engaged citizen. You’ll learn persuasive writing and critical thinking to evaluate problems and questions from multiple perspectives. Majoring in history at OSU gives you access to renowned faculty with a range of expertise. Our program features strengths in historic preservation, museum studies and digital history. Our Jobs in History practicum course gives hands-on experience and real-world connections in art museums, oral history programs, historical archives and other areas.Real-World SkillsA history degree offers skills in written/oral communication, global knowledge, critical thinking and civic engagement. History majors get focused, individualized attention from the undergraduate advisor, with special resources to keep track of their degree programs.
