The Lamar University Bachelor of Arts in History allows you to discover trends and patterns as you explore historical development from pre-history to the present. This program will develop your skills in critical thinking, research, writing, argumentation and documentation. This program also offers you several options in terms of focus and an end result: you may choose the B.A. in History as a standalone program, or you may opt to add six hours for history or social studies teacher certification. There's also a B.A. in Applied History offered at LU. This degree can be a stepping stone into your graduate degree, too. Areas of study for graduate studies include history, historic preservation, law or political science.
