ماذا سوف أتعلم؟

The Music Composition program challenges individual composers to hone their creative skills. Students will cultivate the ability to use all the building blocks of music to create a diverse portfolio of original works, gain necessary professional skills and explore a variety of musical styles as they develop their unique voices. Each year, we bring in several distinguished and emerging composers to teach composition lessons and/or give presentations on their music. Our former students have also received recognition in the field, including awards such as the Guggenheim Fellowship, Aaron Copland Award and Rockefeller Foundation Artist Fellowship. Former students have also had their works performed by violinist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, the American Composers Orchestra and the Louisville, Austin and Vancouver Symphony Orchestras. Roosevelt graduates have created musical organizations such as Access Contemporary Music, Anaphora Ensemble, Chicago Composers Orchestra, Singers on New Ground and the Heisenberg Uncertainty Players.

شروط القبول

للطلاب الدوليين

A freshman applicant is defined as an individual who has completed or will complete a high school degree or its equivalent and has fewer than 12 transferrable college credit hours. The admission requirements for freshman applicants are as follows: Roosevelt requires applicants to attain a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 2.0 for at least 3 years of study. Self-reported information is accepted for most programs but an official transcript will be required if you are admitted to Roosevelt University. If you took dual enrollment classes at your local community college as part of your high school diploma, you will need to submit transcripts from your community college in addition to your high school transcripts. Roosevelt is test-optional. If you have taken the ACT or SAT we encourage you to send your scores, though these are not required for admission.
