Bachelor of Science Degree with a Major in Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics offers degrees tailored to individual student needs. At the undergraduate level, we offer a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree and three emphases. A Bachelor of Science prepares students for a career in mathematics or to pursue a graduate degree in mathematics. Within the BS degree, we also offer an optional emphasis in Actuarial Science. The Actuarial Science emphasis provides Validation by Educational Experience (VEE) credit and prepares students to sit for the first two actuarial exams.A Minor in Mathematics is available which can be adapted to a variety of business or STEM disciplines. In addition, we offer a Minor in Mathematics - Teaching Grades 5-8, which prepares teacher candidates for licensure at the late childhood through early adolescence (middle school) level.
