The Professional Physics Concentration of the Bachelor of Science in Physics is offered through the College of Basic and Applied Science at MTSU. The Professional Physics concentration offers preparation for graduate work in physics, medical physics, astrophysics, or engineering.MTSU physics majors started out in pursuit of a different degree (in recording industry, pre-medicine, music, etc.) only to discover that it was the physics of it all that fascinated them. Physics may take them on a different road back to their original interest a career as a medical physicist, for example.

Students must have official high school or university transcripts and it must be mailed directly from your high school or university to MTSU. For guaranteed admission, applicants must have completed the recommended college preparatory courses and must present one of the following: GPA 3.0 OR.Minimum composite ACT score of 22 OR minimum SAT total score of 1100 (Evidence Based Reading, Writing and Math).If you do not meet either of the above requirements you will need: Minimum 2.7 GPA plus ACT score of 19 OR SAT score of 990 (Evidence-Based Reading or Writing and Math).
