This program prepares you for entry-level positions at the city, state, county and federal levels of government and nonprofit organizations in roles such as human resources specialist, human services assistant, city planning clerk, accounting or auditing clerk, program specialist, information specialist, occupational safety specialist, legislative staffer or grant writer. You’ll also be prepared to transfer to a four-year university to pursue a bachelor’s degree in public administration or a related field.This program includes opportunities for Level 1 certificates in Budgeting in the Public Sector, Labor Studies and Leadership in Public Service that can be completed in 21 hours or less, quickly giving you skills that you can apply in the workforce. You’ll also have the opportunity to get real-world experience in a public sector or nonprofit workplace in a practicum.
