A degree in public health provides a broader lens through which to examine individual patient care. Physicians with a public health background look at how environments and community resources can contribute – or detract from – overall health and wellness. For example, easy access to tobacco or lack of access to safe drinking water or healthy foods can significantly impact the health of individuals and communities.
