The Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Conducting aims to emulate the environment of professional collegiate conductors and is divided into three primary areas of concentration Choral Orchestral and Wind Band Conducting. Students are provided meaningful conducting opportunities with the School of Music s finest ensembles to assist them in their development of advanced score study verbal and nonverbal communication and leadership skills. Program participants work closely with all of the conducting faculty to broaden skills beyond their primary concentration and enter into a mentorship that provides access to national and international networks of professional musicians.

A Baccalaureate or Masters Degree The applicant must provide an unofficial transcript showing that a U.S. bachelors degree or its equivalent was awarded by an accredited college or university or is expected to be awarded within one term. If accepted to the University of Memphis the student must provide an official transcript by the end of their first semester. In addition transcripts from any other college or university attended may be requested. Only transcripts received directly from an issuing institution are considered official. Personal copies are not acceptable as official documents. If you are a UofM undergraduate student applying to Graduate School at UofM you do not need to request that an official transcript be sent to Graduate Admissions. GPA 3.04.0 cumulative GPA. Departments may set higher standards.
