ماذا سوف أتعلم؟

The Department of Communicative Disorders and Sciences provides strong scientific training to doctoral students interested in basic and applied research that advances our understanding of speech, language, hearing and cognition. Our faculty are nationally and internationally known for their expertise in normal communication as well as a variety of speech, language and hearing disorders, including aphasia, tinnitus, developmental language delays and dysarthria. We also investigate normal and disordered speech perception, cochlear implant use, device-driven alternative and augmentative communication, and inner ear hearing mechanisms. Graduates in our program go on to work in academia and industry, advancing the communicative disorders and sciences.

Unofficial transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work.
A minimum of three letters of recommendation by persons familiar with the students past academic, clinical, and/or research work, and who can attest to the students personal qualifications and potential for satisfactory completion of PhD-level work in the field. It would be helpful if the letters address the following topics:
- potential to complete the academic and research requirements for a doctoral degree
- ability to absorb complex knowledge and ideas, to integrate information across disciplines and to think creatively
- ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written form
- ability to work independently ability in research
A letter of intent that is a statement of the students academic and professional goals, as well as your research interests.
