Admission requirements Individual program admission requirements over and above admission to NAU are required. Completion of a bachelor's degree in psychology, or a closely-related field; or a master's degree in psychology or a closely-related field. If your undergraduate GPA is less than 3.00, a graduate GPA of 3.25 is acceptable (minimum 18 units completed as part of a master's degree). Interview Essay/Letter of Intent/Personal Statement, Recommendation(s)/Reference(s), Writing Sample* Students who do not have an undergraduate degree in psychology will need to complete at least five undergraduate or introductory graduate courses that are primarily psychological in content. The courses must be completed early in the program, as they serve as prerequisites. Three of the courses must address these required areas: Introduction to psychology or general psychology Abnormal, psychopathology, or maladaptive behavior Statistics or research methods. See the application for details.Applicants must have earned a bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution and a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 out of a 4.0 scale to be considered for regular admission. Admitted students are expected to have undergraduate educational experiences, including general education studies, that are similar to those required for a baccalaureate at Northern Arizona University. Applicants who have earned their degree(s) from an international institution must submit official transcripts directly from the university or college. The transcripts must be in the original language of the country accompanied by an English translation.
