Arizona State University is ranked a world top 150 university for architecture and built environment (QS World University Rankings 2021). The Master of Interior Architecture program is a studio-based degree program that provides a focused experience for students with an undergraduate degree in interior design or architecture. For students without this background, an additional three semesters of study are available. The mission is to educate and inspire interior architecture leaders through the creation of innovative interior spaces that consider environmental impact, cultural context and social change. This program draws upon history, theory and criticism to inform a collaborative, evidence-based approach, providing students the opportunity to design groundbreaking solutions to contemporary and emergent societal issues. Nestled in The Design School, students have the opportunity to learn and collaborate with complementary disciplines, as well as the larger community. This living laboratory keeps decision-making agile and inclusive of multiple problem-solving perspectives, providing a foundation of transdisciplinary learning to facilitate the understanding of integrated practice.
