Conduct with clarity, coordination, and expression. Cultivate a broad knowledge of choral composers from the twelfth to the twenty-first centuries while mastering conducting gestures and promoting musicality, phrasing, and style. You'll apply analytic, historic, and performance-based approaches to score preparation and will practice rehearsal techniques while working with NAU's diverse choral ensembles. From one-on-one course work and hands-on learning to advanced performance opportunities, you'll earn the experience and skills to elevate your career as a choral music professional. Admission requirements Individual program admission requirements over and above admission to NAU are required. Bachelor's degree in music from a regionally accredited institution. Essay/Letter of Intent/Personal Statement, Portfolio Recommendation(s)/Reference(s), Video or Audio File Writing Sample. See the application for details.Applicants must have earned a bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution and a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 out of a 4.0 scale to be considered for regular admission. Admitted students are expected to have undergraduate educational experiences, including general education studies, that are similar to those required for a baccalaureate at Northern Arizona University. Applicants who have earned their degree(s) from an international institution must submit official transcripts directly from the university or college. The transcripts must be in the original language of the country accompanied by an English translation.
