Mathematical economics is the application of advanced mathematical methods to microeconomics and macroeconomics. Students will participate in a rigorous course of study in mathematics, economics and the interaction between these two disciplines. The mathematics economics program will be valuable for students who intend to pursue graduate work in economics, finance or applied mathematics, or pursue a career in economic analysis, finance, underwriting, actuarial sciences, banking, international trade, applied statistics, or operations research.
