The Master of Science in Communication Disorders at SUNY New Paltz is registered as licensure-qualifying in New York State and is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), 2200 Research Boulevard #310, Rockville, Maryland 20850, 800-498-2071 or 301-296-5700. The program offers the following concentrations:The program prepares students who have strong undergraduate backgrounds in Communication Disorders for a wide range of career opportunities and for doctoral study. There are two concentrations: Speech and Language Disabilities (64 credits) 090I Speech-Language Pathology (61 credits) 090S Both concentrations lead to eligibility for state licensure and ASHA certification in speech-language pathology. The concentration in Speech and Language Disabilities (090I) leads to a New York State teaching certificate as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (initial TSSLD).

للطلاب الدوليين

Students need to have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution. A minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (4.0 scale). A college-level course in statistics with a minimum grade of 2.0 (4.0 scale). Course must be focused on statistics; research methods will not be accepted. At least eight courses in communication disorders at the undergraduate level. Courses must be determined to be equivalent to the New Paltz minimum specified courses listed below and must have been completed in the last 10 years. These courses may be in progress at the time of application but must be completed prior to entry into the program. An interview may be required. GRE scores are NOT required.
