Wayne State's MSN programs prepares nurses for advanced practice as a nurse practitioner or nurse-midwife in the care of culturally diverse individuals, families and groups in a variety of health care settings, with an emphasis on the challenges facing urban populations. Admission to this program is contingent upon admission to the Graduate School. Additionally, students must satisfy the following criteria mandated by the College:

The applicant must have completed an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited baccalaureate program in nursing with a grade point average (g.p.a.) of 3.0
