At the academic heart of ASU, this program is part of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the university’s largest and most diverse college. Its world-renowned faculty include 15 National Academy of Sciences members, 3 Pulitzer Prize winners and 2 Noble Prize winners. The Bachelor of Arts program in Russian explores Russia's language, literature, history and more. As part of a small community of program participants with the resources of a large university, students gain intermediate to advanced reading, writing and speaking skills in Russian. They also study Russian civilization, popular culture, protest and propaganda, and classical Russian works. Faculty members mentor students throughout the program to win prestigious paid internships in places such as Washington, D.C., and scholarships from U.S. government entities, including the Department of Defense, the Department of Education, the Department of Justice and the Department of State. The program partners with the Melikian Center for Russian, Eurasian and East European Studies to offer a certificate in agribusiness, anthropology, architecture, economics, geography, history, political science, religious studies, Russian, sociology or women's studies.
